Prison Visit
As part of the organisation's calander events, Light of the Ummah has planned a visit to Suleja Prison in Niger State. This will entail giving out relief packages to the prisoners and some inspiring and motivational talkes between our members and the prisoners.

Ramadan Iftar Program
Every year during ramadan by the will of ALLAH, Light of the Ummah engages in a campaign to provide food for iftar to the needy in various rural comminities such as Gishiri, Giwa and Mpape in the Federal Capital Territory. This year we were able to include kano in our iftar locations.


Hospital Visits
LOTU organizes yearly visits various hospitals to render assistance in form of relief materials and payment of patients’ bills by inviting the public to donate to this noble cause. Gwarinpa and Bwari General Hospitals are two of the latest beneficiaries of this project.
Knowledge Exchange Program
Our knowledge exchange platform is conducted through a series of lectures, seminars, and online platforms such as Facebook/twitter. One of the lectures organized by LOTU was on the topic “Love and Married Life of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W)” by Sheikh Nurudeen Lemu. Other lectures held include “The purpose of life” by Sheikh Khalid Yasin and more recently a seminar on “Family life in the 21st Century by a number of prominent Nigerian speakers such as Arc Penn Abdul, Sheikh Abdulfatai Adeyemi, Mallama Halima and others. Our latest was in Kaduna by Dr. Bilal Philips from Canada called Train the Trainer Program

Etihad (Union)
In March 2014, LOTU organized its premier edition of an annual family fun day tagged ETIHAD which brought together a variety of vendors and establishments specialized in food, Islamic calligraphy, health and beauty and fashion featuring an 'Ask a Sheikh' speakers' corner and sisters' corner for sisterly bonding. Also available were lots of fun and educational activities for kids which featured Rock climbing, horse riding, bouncy castle.


Community Outreach
Every year, LOTU engages in a massive campaign to create awareness about the state of selected orphanages to raise funds and relief materials for orphans. We collect items like shoes, bags, clothes, books and other items that may be useful for orphans. One of the beneficiaries of this scheme is Abuja children’s home.

Young Ambassadorship Program
LOTU seeks to launch various courses that appeal to Nigerian youth specifically the subject that deals with fiqh of marriage and Family…..2 bricks that if they are good, then the future of the Ummah good. The courses will focus on issues like Leadership, How to choose the right spouse, dealing with culture, Communication with potential spouses based on Islamic Fatwa as well as how to conduct halal marriage. Other courses will focus on how to prevent and deal with divorce and how to raise righteous children. These will in shaa Allah help with inculcating leadership values in the younger generation.
